  1. How can I let my honoree know about the gift?

We will mail you a beautiful greeting card with matching envelope. You can then personalize it and send it to your honoree to notify them of your gift. Unfortunately we do not send cards directly to your honoree.

  1. Where does my money go?

By selecting a gift through this catalog, you are making a donation to Save the Children. We are dedicated to using your dollars to give every child the best chance for success in life. Each gift in this catalog represents resources, services or support provided by Save the Children to a program area in which we work, and may change due to environmental, programmatic and economic considerations. Your donations will be used to provide assistance where it is needed most within that program area or to address a similar need.

  1. How does Save the Children measure up to other charities and non-profit organizations?

With 100 years of experience and hundreds of million children benefiting from our global movement, Save the Children has built a name that children, communities and supporters can trust. It is because of our tireless and highly effective work on behalf of girls and boys around the world that Save the Children is ranked high among non-profit organizations.   1. Will I get a confirmation that my gift has been received in the field?

No, unfortunately that would be too costly and time consuming for our staff on the ground, but rest assured that your gifts will be used to provide critical assistance within the program area you choose or to address similar needs in the field.

  1. How secure is my information over the web?

Keeping your personal information safe is a top priority for us.

  1. Do you offer expedited shipping?

Unfortunately, we do not offer expedited shipping for greeting cards.

  1. Will I receive a receipt for my gift and is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, you will receive a receipt. Your gifts are tax deductible. Your receipt will detail the tax-deductible and non-tax-deductible portions for your records.

  1. How does it work?

First, choose a loved one or friend to honor. Select a gift and make your donation online or by phone. We will send you a free greeting card featuring the exact gift item chosen in their name, along with an extra envelope. You can choose to write your own personal note in the card before mailing it to your honoree. If they like, your honoree can display the beautiful card as a reminder that your gift is helping children in need.

  1. Can I send a gift from the catalog to my sponsored child?

No, you cannot send a catalog gift item to your sponsored child. During our many years of working in the field, Save the Children has learned that the most effective way to help children is to combine gifts from donors rather than giving them directly to your sponsored child. The gift items in the catalog are purchased for the communities where Save the Children works.

  1. What is included in the price of the gift?

Included in the gift amount is the cost of the item or service, plus any administrative costs associated with delivering the item or service to the children and families we serve.

  1. How quickly will my gift be sent?

We will mail you the greeting card and envelope within three business days. You can expect to receive it within 7 to 10 days of your gift purchase.

  1. Can I have my greeting card shipped outside of the United States?

Yes, we will ship your order to an international address.

  1. Can I choose the country where my donation will benefit?

No, unfortunately you cannot select the country where we will put your dollars to work. Please see question "Where does my money go?" for more details.

  1. Can I pay by check?

If you're placing your order by phone or via our website, we can only accept credit card payments. Unfortunately, we are not set up to transfer funds electronically through your bank at this time.
